“God gives and God takes away” – a statement often used when people lose their loved ones and mostly by priests at funerals. When upheavals or natural disasters befall an area; it is tagged to be an act of God.

Job 1: 21 [KJV]: ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

We speak like Job to find solace and submit to “a God” who sits on a sovereign throne (who gives and takes away), who is in charge of everything and does whatever He likes whether good or bad.

Through the Word of God, we found out that God didn’t take anything away from Job, even though God had allowed the devil to operate freely, but Job had the right to stop him. Job loved God and was devoted to Him; but he hasn’t known the ways of God or the authority a man can exercise in his God.

Satan brought assaults against Job several times before God and eventually launched out his attacks (1 vs 6 – 12; 2 vs 7). No one was able to stand for Job, no mediator, even Job couldn’t plead his own cause or resist the wicked one; all he did was to accept the outcome. But God who is rich in mercy restored everything and gave him a turning point.

The reality is; God does not give and take away (or withdraws what He has given); GOD GIVES AND GIVES.

God couldn’t have blessed Job, then cursed him afterwards and bless him again. That’s not His attribute; He is faithful to his word to keep and to make happen, even when we are not faithful.

1 John 1: 5 [KJV] – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is NO DARKNESS AT ALL.

The nature of God was revealed in Jesus during his earth walk.

Acts 10: 38 [KJV] – How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about DOING GOOD, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

The devil hasn’t changed his tactics; he is still in the business of accusing people day and night before God; he is a roaring (but wounded) lion seeking out daily whom he would devour. Jesus had revealed to who he is; he comes to kill, steal and destroy, but we are not ignorant of his devices anymore. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding (1 John 5: 20). Satan doesn’t have new tactics, he is still using the same old strategies and tricks. Through the Word of God in us, active and alive, we can always place him where he belongs – (under our feet).

Are you going through some hard times? Is the devil stealing your health, marriage or finances right in your very eyes? Are you at the edge of losing that child, property, carrier, ministry or contract?

Never think it is God taking it away. Stop that devil now; don’t allow him go beyond that line. It is up to you now, not God.

Remember, He told us …

FOR WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD OVERCOMETH THE WORLD: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1 John 5: 4)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD. (John 16: 33)

I HAVE GIVEN YOU AUTHORITY TO TRAMPLE on snakes and scorpions and TO OVERCOME ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY; nothing will harm you (Luke 10: 19)

I am superior to the devil; I am a master, a victor and an overcomer over every situation in this life. Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. My life and everything that belongs to me is in Christ. Nothing can snatch me away. I am fully saved and secured in Christ. I am full of life, health and wholeness. Glory to God
